Vision Services at the Eye Care Center
Our vision services include eye exams, contact lens exams and fittings, refractive eye surgery and emergency eye care. Our optometrists perform a comprehensive vision and eye exam. It includes a vision acuity test, eye performance test and eye health test. The vision acuity test evaluates your reading and distance sight. Depending on the results, Dr. Ed Mills and Dr. Christopher Mills will let you know if you need corrective eyewear, such as glasses or contact lenses. The eye performance test evaluates depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, responsiveness to light, eye teaming and tracking and focus. A slit lamp and bright light are used to evaluate your ocular structures, and tonometry is used to measure intraocular pressure for signs of glaucoma. If you prefer contact lenses, we’ll do a contact lens exam to determine the best type of contact lenses for you, such as spherical soft contacts, soft gas-permeable contacts or multifocal contacts.
Today, laser surgery is an option for those with myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism who prefer not to wear glasses or contacts. Dr. Ed Mills and Dr. Christopher Mills take a full medical history and run advanced diagnostic tests to determine if you’re a good candidate for refractive laser surgery. If you are a good candidate, we will provide the eye surgeon with his data and participate in your post-op care. After your eye surgery, we automatically schedule follow-up visits to monitor your progress.
We also provide optometry and optical services to the following areas: Davidson, Statesville, Cornelius, Huntersville, Denver, and Lake Norman communities
